Twenty Five cities and towns stretch across Maricopa County. I have bought and sold homes in every one of them. Such travel has put me on a first name basis with my tire guy, but it also crafted a unique perspective on this valley as a whole. This desert island is a wildly diverse place, with smooth spots and rough spots, each city flavored with their own peculiar seasoning. Arizona was the last contiguous state to join the union, its rebellious nature is baked into its population. This valley isn’t for everyone. Like an old pair of jeans, it either fits perfectly or not at all.
