Reach for the Sky
Cave Creek & Carefree
Boots, Boulders, and Beauty
Parked on the Northern edge of the East Valley sits a magical land of boulder strewn slopes, world class golf, and luxury laid back lifestyles. The Old West intertwined with the New Wealth, land of the Free, home of the wave, a friendly place at a leisurely pace.
Lifestyle
Carefree, and beauty surrounds you
Black Mountain, the unofficial gatekeeper to the Cave Creek/Carefree portion of our valley, is a collision of granite rock and black sedimentary stone. That complex crash is a fitting emblem for the area as its residential make-up is a blend of extreme lifestyles. The common thread is freedom. It’s not unusual to find a corporate CEO clinking drinks with a cowhand, in fact, it’s downright usual here.
Relax
Sometimes the most productive thing you can do is relax. That balance between work and rejuvenation is located right here.
Set a Spell
With art festivals, wild rodeos, and brain pleasing views that stretch beyond eyesight’s limits, there is always a reason to smile here.
Take your Shoes off
20 minutes from the freeway grants enough space to foster small town character and charm. Imagine Mayberry in a microwave.
Ya'll Come Back Now!
Home to famed Desert Mountain, the Bevery Hills of Arizona, this area is a favorite roosting perch for flocks of migratory snowbirds.
The Good Life, it never gets old.
Give me Hope! Ah, sweet madness!
Struggle, volcanoes, iron, and sadness!
So sang the melody that drew me to Arizona more than twenty years ago. This desert offers itself as a spiritual partner to those willing to embrace it. It speaks a silent language heard by your soul, bathing your woes in blue skies while stealing your heart with its seductive beauty.
Our Valley of the Sun tilts like a third martini stiletto, sloping upward in a North-Easterly direction, beyond freeways, beyond the patchwork of beige subdivisions, upward into stretches of silent desert skies, until it arrives at Cave Creek and Carefree. Here the population and light pollution dissipate into a stone strewn tapestry of open natural spaces, an otherworldly environment unique to any place you’ve ever witnessed.
The culture here is laid back, available in two distinct flavors: Redneck and Aristocrate. Think Garth Brooks in a King Ranch F-350 asking you to pass the Grey Poupon.
Cave Creek began as an 1870’s wagon stop and not much has changed since. With live bull riding at the Buffalo Chip, live music next door at Harold’s, and live Hell’s Angels at The Hideaway’s weekly bike week, the community vibe is gritty, rusty, dusty, and fun. Homes are well spaced, with acre+ lots a common treat, and horse trails rampant throughout.
The Carefree crowd across the street, sipping a velvety California Pinot with hints of chocolate espresso and oak vanilla, clad in bright polos, canvas shorts, and arch pleasing white tennies, play the perfect Felix Unger partner to Cave Creek’s Oscar Madison. This area is a symphony of income levels, life line lengths, and everyday eclectic tastes.
Desert Mountain, the crème de la crème of Arizona, is parked here on a fairway littered ridge, overlooking God’s creation with the highest views in the valley. With over 5,000 of the finest residences in the west anchored into its slope, Desert Mountain’s grip on worldwide prestige is eternal.
This region is renowned for its beauty, both natural and man made. It’s not definable, it’s not for everyone, but it’s what I call home. I’d love to show you around!
