“Designed by Allen Tafoya, built by R-Net Construction and interiors by Billy Springer”
Who was the Gaffer? When a home comes with its own credits reel, we’re in for more drama than watching the Hallmark Channel in a Clockwork Orange contraption. This medieval interior looks like something you’d return home to after the Fall of Constantinople, or slaying 50 dragons, or seizing the throne of Westeros. By the looks of this intricate craftsmanship, it appears these stones were laid by hand, one after the other, as if they hired Hobbits for the masonry. In our world there is “attention to detail” and then there is this, going more overboard than Greg Luganis in a Triple Lindy. This is amazing! They say, “Every man’s home is his castle”, but you’re not supposed to take it this literally.

8614 W DENTON LN, Glendale, AZ
“This beautiful home is located in a quite, family neighborhood”
This quite family neighborhood is quite close to Cardinals Stadium and is quite free of any HOA restrictions as there is NO HOA whatsoever here. Why is this quite important? Because being this cheap, this new, this close to Westgate Center makes THIS quite the optimal VRBO candidate.
Vacation Rentals By Owner
A quiet war has been raging in our valley between Vacation Rental websites and Home Owner’s Associations. Vacation Rental platforms such as AirBNB.com and VRBO.com provide stranger to stranger connections, so strangers can use a stranger’s house for stranger vacations. Buy a blue light. No…wait. Don’t. Just don’t. Together these two companies boast a network of more than 4 million homes in over 200 countries. This ‘homes as hotels’ business model has reshaped residential Real Estate over the last decade, taking millions of properties off the open market, turning them into Motel 6 money mills.
And the plan would have worked except for those pesky kids! It takes precisely one “Till the break of dawn” party to land a Vacation Rental property in the red eyed target sights of its neighbors. These vacation websites police their guest’s behavior with nothing but a ratings system, much like Uber, only Uber doesn’t park in your backyard and blast “Hot Girl Summer” until it’s time to get up for work. Revolted homeowners revolted, and all across our tourist trap valley HOA’s have been incorporating counter measures, such as 30-day minimum rental rules, to rid their hood of these hotel happy hour hoodlums.
If you’ve ever considered investing in a vacation rental property, you need to be wary that every HOA is one Bad Incident away from changing association rules, banning vacation rentals, and rendering your investment moot. This quite family neighborhood home is sitting in quite the optimal position for such an investment, since there is NO HOA, but there is quite a pool!

“Enjoy your grand master suite”
Grand Master!?! Are we still allowed to say that? We were told by the PC Police network that this was sexist, or racist, or misogynist, it was some sort of ist. Looks like this agent defiantly turned into the skid…

HAPPY VETERANS DAY!
Which seems an odd thing to say considering the sacrifices involved. When people don’t come home, or part of themself fails to make the return trip, physically or mentally, it’s not exactly a blow out the candles on the cake celebration. “Happy” can seem misplaced. Maybe we could find better words; Thankful. Proud. Indebted. Gratefulness is the free man’s payment on a debt that can never be repaid. Today, like all days, we Honor our Veterans, those courageous souls who put us before them.
Courage, the aged bedrock on which this Nation was built, can often seem to be in short supply. It never is. It’s right there painted on the faces of the men and women who choose the path of most resistance. People willing to go through Hell just so we don’t have to. We owe them more than words. We owe them our actions.
Two weeks ago I took my 10 year old Godson to his first football game. He clutched his heart as we heard the National Anthem cascade across Cardinal Stadium. This was his first NFL experience, and the Eagles would make it a good one. That anthem ended with lines that felt a bit off key. Not off key in their tune. Off key in this moment in America.
The Land of the Free
And The Home…of the…Brave
We can’t be the former without first being the latter.
Thank a Veteran, every time you meet one.
